Paul Revere
Paul Revere was born in December 1734 to Apollos Reviore, a French immigrant, and Deborah Hichborn. He worked as a silversmith, but he was also a dentist. He used his craftsman skills to wire dentures. He made them out of animal teeth, and constructed it into the patients’ mouths. Those jobs were just a fraction of the other amazing things he did.
Just one year before the American Revolution, Paul Revere started collecting information by watching and following the British soldiers. He was a messenger for the Massachusetts Committee of Safety and the Boston Committee of Correspondence, which made it easier to find the inside story. He was also the person who extended the news of the Boston Tea Party, but he was most known for his famous “Midnight Ride.” He rode to Lexington and eventually Concord to warn two men of the British.

In April 18, 1775, a couple of hours before midnight, Paul Revere and two others were told to go across the lake and ride to Lexington on different routes. The men were to tell John Hancock and Samuel Adams that the British troops were coming to arrest them. The two friends had been in hiding and directing business in a little house where they were safe from the British officials. Instead of going directly to the safe house, Revere stopped at every house that contained people involved in the revolution to also warn them that the British may stop to disarm any weapons. He made it to Lexington and was joined by two other men, (William Dawes and Samuel Prescott) who went a different route on the same assignment, to ride to Concord, where all of the main weapons were being stowed.
On their way, they met the Redcoats (British Soldiers). Adams barely managed to escape. Dawes tried to get away, but was arrested, along with Revere. After he was captured, the officials interrogated him with a gun held to his chest. They asked him about the plans of the armed forces in Concord, where they held all of the ammunition and weapons. Paul told them the truth, and they told him that if he tried to escape, they would be forced to shoot him.
As they were nearing Concord, they heard gunshots. It frightened the British , so they released Revere. However, they did not give him his horse back. They gave him a small, weak, and frail horse instead. Revere met Hancock and Adams on their way to back to Lexington to retrieve essential documents for the Provincial Congress. Those shots started the beginning of the War of Independence.
Paul Revere was a brave warrior and deliverer. He made many risks and decisions that most people in that time period, or any time period wouldn't make. He not only followed orders to advise Samuel Adams and John Hancock of the British's appearance, but he also warned fellow rebels. He was also a truthful man. I'm glad that he told the truth to the British soldiers when he was captured. They knew he told them the truth, and when the gunshots went off, they let him go.
